Ultimate Beginner's Jungle Start Guide
The Most Optimal Jungle Start in Smite 2 (Patch OB9) – Advanced Guide
Smite 2’s Open Beta brings frequent balance changes, but as of patch OB9, there is a clear optimal jungle start that offers maximum efficiency and control. This guide will walk you through that route, suitable for advanced players but with helpful context for beginners as well. We’ll cover the jungle path, experience and gold values, and all jungle camps in detail.
🔄 Overview
While newer players can follow along, this guide assumes you already know the basics of jungling. If you’re looking for the fastest way to hit level 5 and secure early dominance, this route is for you.
📍 Starting Your Route
Start at the Blue Buff and give it to your Solo Laner. This is critical—if your solo laner doesn’t receive their blue buff while the enemy does, your lane is at a serious disadvantage. Some solo laners can solo the camp at level 1, but many can’t do it quickly enough, so your help matters.
Immediately after, go to the Red Buff, pulling it toward the Mid Lane so your teammate can pick it up quickly. The poison damage effect from red buff is more useful for your mid laner than you early on.
With your mid laner, clear the Cyclops Camp and prepare to contest the first Neutral Camp. Before engaging:
Make sure you’re Level 2
Have Sundering Arc equipped—it deals 200 true damage to monsters at level 1 and helps secure contested camps
If your mid doesn’t back you up and the enemy mid already pushed lane, it’s safer to rotate and clear the opposite neutral camp instead.
🔁 Mid Jungle Rotation
From here, your route should look like this:
Opposite Neutral Camp (Wraiths)
Cyclops Camp
Raptors near Duo Lane
Yellow Buff
Final Raptors Camp
Rotating Harpy (if timing aligns)
Scorpion Camp
Final Harpy Camp
Stacked Rotating Harpies
Doing this path efficiently gets you to Level 5 before most others hit 4, or even 3. If you lost a neutral camp or shared more XP than planned, you’ll still hit Level 5 with the rotating harpies.
🎯 First Gank Timing
At Level 5, it’s time to gank. Preferably, gank the Duo Lane—they’ll likely still be Level 3 while you have your ultimate. Teleport can help you reach quickly. After ganking, rotate back to Solo Lane for the respawned Blue Buff.
If Duo isn’t an option, gank Solo instead. Either way, ensure you’re at the Blue → Red → Neutral Buffs as they respawn in sequence.
🧠 Advanced Jungle Control
If you don’t have a gank opportunity, farm efficiently:
Firebrand Camps (inside Fire Giant pit): Spawn at 3:00, 2-minute respawn. Give 142 XP and ~80 gold each. Drop Fire Giant Embers, granting +1 permanent Strength and Intelligence.
Cyclops Camps on respawn
Watch timers carefully and stay ahead
