Core Build
Starter Item: Conduit Gem or Sands of Time
For the starter item, you can choose between Conduit Gem for more burst damage in the late game or Sands of Time if you prefer lower cooldowns, especially for your ultimate ability.First Item: Book of Thoth
The first core item is Book of Thoth, a must-have item that will provide massive amounts of intelligence once stacked. This item is crucial for scaling into the game and boosting your magical damage.Second Item: Polynomicon
The next core item is Polynomicon, a key item for this build. It adds extra damage to your next basic attack after every ability cast. You can take advantage of your first ability’s slow effect to easily land your basic attack, giving you a very strong early trading power.Third Item: Cosmic Horror
Cosmic Horror is a solid choice to add more mana, which pairs excellently with Book of Thoth. It also gives you a very nice boost to your intelligence. If you want pure stats and no extra utilities, this is a great option.
Additional Items
The next three items will depend on the situation you’re facing in the game.
Obsidian Shard
If the enemy team has started stacking magical protection, Obsidian Shard is a great item that provides more damage than other items and is very cheap for its effectiveness.Rod of Tahuti
Rod of Tahuti is a must-buy no matter what. It will greatly boost your intelligence, ensuring you reach your full damage potential in the late game.Divine Ruin
Divine Ruin is optional but highly recommended if the enemy team has lots of healing. The anti-heal effect can be a game-changer in those matchups.
Situational Options
Here are some additional items to consider if you want to adapt your build further:
Totem of Death
If the enemy team has magical protections, you can opt for Totem of Death, which will provide you with 30% extra penetration and can be easily stacked with Kukulkan’s third ability.Necronomicon
Necronomicon is a risky but rewarding choice. If you’re snowballing, not dying, or the enemy team doesn’t have magical protections, you can choose this item to boost your intelligence even further.Gem of Focus
Gem of Focus offers a bit less damage but provides you with movement speed, helping with positioning and kiting.Soul Gem
If you find yourself needing lifesteal, Soul Gem is a great choice, offering both healing and damage on every fourth ability cast.
