Expedition 33 Guide: The Ultimate Sciel Support Build

Welcome to another Expedition 33 build guide! This time, we’re focusing on a powerful support setup featuring Sciel—a surprisingly potent ally when it comes to maximizing your team’s damage potential and momentum.

Why Sciel?

Ciel stands out thanks to two incredibly strong support abilities:

Fortune’s Fury: Doubles an ally’s damage for one turn.
Intervention: Grants action points and an immediate extra turn to a selected ally.

These two skills alone make her a perfect candidate for enabling burst damage strategies, especially when paired with characters who can nuke or control the battlefield effectively.

Core Picto Strategy

The heart of this build revolves around two specific Pictos:

One that instantly kills Ciel.
One that immediately revives her.

This death-and-revive combo isn’t just for flair. It triggers a cascade of effects from other equipped Pictos that provide team-wide benefits:

+4 Action Points to all allies — eliminating the need to use Lumina for Energizing Start on your main damage dealers.
Three Buffs to the Entire Party:
- Powerful Shell
- Rush
- Burn (applied to enemies)

Synergizing Buffs and Damage

Burning all enemies is key to enabling even more powerful effects:

Burning Efficiency: Increases damage dealt to burned targets.
Critical Burn: Boosts critical hit rate for your carries against burned enemies.
3 Shields for the Party: Useful both defensively and offensively, especially with Pictos like Shield Affinity and Powerful Shield, which scale your carries’ damage based on active shields.

Utility and Crowd Control

This build also includes:

An AoE Damage Picto: Instantly damages enemies—great for quickly clearing low-level encounters.
Break Bar Filler: The most crucial Picto in this build. Filling the break bar of enemies opens the door for stuns and massive follow-up damage.

Once the break bar is filled, a new icon appears below the enemy’s HP. Hitting it with a “Can Break” ability stuns the enemy, making them miss their next turn and take extra damage—especially deadly when combined with the Stun Boost Picto.

The easiest way to ensure this happens? Equip the Breaking Attack Picto, which makes your basic attacks capable of breaking enemies. Just land a single basic hit on each enemy, and boom—everyone is stunned before they even act.

Turn Order & Execution

Let’s not forget—this guide is about Ciel.

To maximize her impact, make sure Ciel acts last at the start of the fight. Simply set your team’s selection order accordingly.

As the fight begins, every enemy’s break bar is nearly full and your party is already fully buffed.
Use Lune’s first turn to stun one target and start charging her unique resource.
On the following turn, have another character break the remaining enemies and ideally apply marks.
Then comes Ciel’s moment:
- Use Fortune’s Fury on Lune to double her damage.
- Follow up with Intervention to give Lune another immediate turn.
- Now Lune can unleash her nuke while enemies are stunned and vulnerable.

This creates a devastating combo where your carries delete the enemy team before they can even act.

Final Thoughts

That wraps up the best support build in Expedition 33—centered around Ciel and an optimized Picto chain reaction. There are a few more niche Pictos I use with this setup, but I’ll just list their names in the description.

The core idea? Stack utility, trigger automated buffs, and give your carries the setup they need to dominate.
