Hello guys! Let’s take a look at a very easy-to-execute build order for Nu Wa in Age of Mythology: Retold.
The goal of this build order is to rush for a second Town Center while also recruiting the Hero Kuafu, a very strong worker unit unique to Nu Wa.
I’ll keep the camera as stable as possible to make this guide easier to follow, but remember — you can use all this “dead time” to scout the map.
Opening Moves
Right at the start, you need to execute three actions at the same time:
Send your peasants to hunt.
Send your Kuafu to gather gold.
Set an auto-queue for peasants at the Town Center.
Then, quickly take your Kuafu and build two houses with as much distance between them as possible.
The Chinese pantheon gains favor based on the area where you have structures. Later, we’ll need a specific amount of favor to recruit the Hero Kuafu. That’s why it’s important to build these two houses quickly and far apart.
Early Economy Setup
After building the houses, send your Kuafu to gather gold and wait until you have 7 peasants on food.
The next 3 peasants will go to wood.
Once your Kuafu gathers around 240 gold, transfer him to wood as well.
If you’ve built the houses quickly, you should be able to recruit the Hero Kuafu right before the third wood villager spawns. The Hero Kuafu and the last peasant for Age I will both go to gold.
At this point, you’ll also have enough wood and gold to build your Temple with your Kuafu. Once the Temple is complete, send your Kuafu back to gold.
So, the distribution now should be:
7 peasants on food
3 on wood
1 Kuafu on gold
… waiting for the Hero Kuafu and one more peasant, both of whom will also go to gold.
Advancing to Age II
When the last peasant spawns, you should be able to start advancing to the second age.
If your food supply is just short, select all your food workers and deposit their food — that should give you the 400 food needed to advance.
Once you’ve clicked advance, transfer 5 food workers to wood. This will ensure you have enough resources to build your second Town Center immediately after reaching Age II.
Building the Second Town Center
Have your scout near the desired Town Center location. As soon as you advance, cast your god power to create peasants and have them build the second Town Center.
At the same time — or once you have enough wood for the TC — transfer those 5 wood peasants back to food.
With two Town Centers, your food will deplete quickly, so be ready to keep production going.
Moving Forward
Once your second Town Center is up, build some barracks and start training military units. From here, it’s up to you which strategy you want to follow.
