Aion 2 Macro Guide : Razer Synapse + In-Game Macro
🎮 AION 2 MACROS — HOW THEY WORK & WHY YOU SHOULD USE THEM
Macros can make a huge difference in Aion 2, especially when it comes to animation cancelling, weaving basic attacks between abilities, and simplifying your rotation.
Here’s how the system works.
⚙️ STEP 1 — SET UP YOUR SETTINGS
Before anything else, go to your settings and enable:
Skill Queue: ON
Pursue Targets Upon Skill Use: ON (optional)
Auto Target Upon Skill Use: ON (optional)
Then go to your key settings and bind your Macro key somewhere convenient. I recommend using one of your mouse buttons.
⚔️ STEP 2 — UNDERSTANDING ANIMATION CANCELLING
In Aion 2, certain ability animations can be cancelled by using another ability at the right moment.
When you successfully cancel an animation, you’ll see a “ghost” image of your character performing the previous attack.
The goal is to use this mechanic to weave basic attacks between your abilities while keeping your rotation as fast as possible.
The problem?
Combat is extremely fast.
That’s where macros come in.
🔥 STEP 3 — THE 10ms MACRO TRICK
Create an in-game macro with:
1 ability + 10ms delay
A single button can have up to 4 abilities assigned to it.
The game checks those abilities in order:
The first available ability is used.
If it’s unavailable, it checks the next one.
It continues down the list.
If nothing else is available, your filler ability is used.
So generally, you want to prioritize:
Proc ability → High cooldown ability → Other abilities → Filler
For example, if I put Judgement at the bottom of the macro, the game will use it whenever the abilities above it aren’t available.
The important part is that you’re binding the key, not the individual ability.
🖱️ WHY 10ms?
You might ask:
“Why use a macro for one ability? Can’t I just hold the button?”
Not quite.
The 10ms delay is the trick.
When you hold a macro key, the game interprets it as rapidly pressing the ability instead of simply holding it.
This means you can:
Hold your basic attack + hold your macro key
Your basic attack will continuously execute, while the macro interrupts it whenever another ability becomes available.
This lets you weave basic attacks between your abilities automatically while also helping with animation cancelling.
🔄 STEP 4 — AUTOMATING THE ROTATION
At this point, you can already hold two buttons and execute most of your rotation.
But holding two buttons constantly can get tiring.
You can take this one step further by using external macro software.
⚠️ Important: Check the current Aion 2 rules before doing this. External automation/macros may violate the game’s rules and can potentially result in penalties or a ban. Use them at your own risk.
For example, if you’re using a Razer mouse, you can use Razer Synapse.
Other brands have their own software, but the basic concept is similar.
🖥️ STEP 5 — CREATING THE EXTERNAL MACRO
In Razer Synapse:
Open Synapse.
Download the Macro module if you don’t already have it.
Create a new macro.
Select Record.
Perform your rotation exactly as you normally would.
Stop recording.
The recorded inputs may look strange.
Don’t start deleting individual inputs.
If you recorded the sequence correctly, leave it as recorded. Removing inputs can potentially cause unexpected behavior or loops.
A useful trick is to bind your in-game macro and basic attack to additional keys.
For example:
Macro → F9
Basic Attack → F10
Then, when recording the external macro, you can simply hold F9 + F10 together.
🔁 STEP 6 — SET UP TOGGLE PLAYBACK
Finally, choose a key that will be used only for the external macro.
For example:
Mouse Scroll Click → External Macro
Make sure that key doesn’t have another important function in the game.
In the playback settings, select:
Toggle continuous playback
Now you can press the macro key once to start the sequence and press it again to stop it.
🧠 THE IMPORTANT PART
Once you understand how Aion 2’s macro system works, you can build rotations around almost any setup.
You can also look at another player’s hotbar and understand what their macro is likely doing based on the abilities and their order.
The core idea is simple:
Basic attack + 10ms macro → ability priority → animation cancelling → simplified rotation
Hopefully this clears up how macros work in Aion 2 and gives you a better understanding of how to build your own.
Have fun playing, and see you in the next one! 🎮
